According to the report of Pakistani newspaper ‘Dawn’, in a letter sent on Thursday, the Balochistan government ordered Pakistan’s Home Ministry to suspend mobile data service. The Government of Balochistan requested that the concerned authorities be directed to suspend 3G/4G internet services in Quetta for 24 hours on 31 October.

It was said in the letter that in order to ensure law and order is not disturbed and in view of the apprehensions of danger, it is necessary to shut down 3G and 4G services in Quetta district. Earlier in August, mobile data services were suspended citing security reasons. However, mobile internet services were immediately restored on the orders of Balochistan High Court. Now exactly two months later, the service has been suspended again for 24 hours in Balochistan.

When internet service was stopped in August, Balochistan faced a lot of problems in education, online business and media reporting. Officials had said that the decision was taken on the recommendations of security agencies, especially in view of the increasing tension around National Day celebrations in Pakistan.

According to the report of The Balochistan Post, students, businessmen, journalists and human rights organizations had criticized this decision of the government. Students attending online classes had said that they were not able to participate in discussions nor submit assignments. The situation was more serious in rural areas, where students already have limited educational resources.

Freelancers and businessmen from Quetta, Turbat, Khuzdar and Panjgur had said that their livelihood had come to a standstill due to the suspension of internet services.

In Balochistan, the government has increased Section-144 for 15 days in the entire state citing the current law and order situation. According to the notification issued by the Home Department, there will be a ban on display and use of weapons during this period, motorcycle double ride, black glass vehicles, non -registration motorcycles, gathering of more than 5 people, procession and rally. The instructions also states that it will also be completely forbidden to hide the face in public places, especially in the muffler, mask or any other way.

National Democratic Party (NDP) central spokesperson Shahjeb Baloch held a press conference at the Quetta Press Club and termed these sanctions unconstitutional and said that it is like strangling democratic rights. He alleged that workers of Balochistan and other disadvantaged groups across the country are not only harassed but are also facing serious challenges like forcibly disappearing them.

Shahjeb said that the government should make arrangements to bring back all the missing Baloch and other victims. He said that if any political activist is accused, then he should be produced in the court, but mass punishment to the entire community is like ethnic and national purification and reflects colonial mentality.

Protesters jammed Quetta-Karachi highway

Meanwhile, tension increased in Jawaha and poisonous areas of Khujdar district, where the Kuetta-Karachi highway was also jammed by protesters on the second day. This protest started when the passengers were abducted from a van going to itching from the hub post. Local leaders allege that recently Pakistani security forces stopped a van, out of which women and children were taken to an unknown place after landing women and children.

Local leader Baba Fateh poisoned told reporters over the phone that the Khujdar administration used force to end peaceful demonstrations. He also alleged that the security forces abused women and beat the youth. Fateh appealed to the people of poisonous region to participate in a large number of dharna so that the excesses of the itching administration could be stopped.

Quetta bomb blast: A painful incident occurred on Sunday in Quetta city of Pakistan. Baloch Liberation Army: There was a conflict between the Government of Pakistan and the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) over the alleged victory day celebrations in Quetta.
