BLA took responsibility for the attack
Baloch Liberation Army spokesperson Ziand Baloch has taken responsibility for this suicide attack in a statement issued to the media. Initial investigation has revealed that the attack was planned in advance and the time of passing of the train was deliberately chosen so that maximum damage could be caused.

In March 2025, Jafar Express going from Quetta to Peshawar was stopped in the inaccessible hilly area of ​​Bolan district of Balochistan and hijacked. More than 400 passengers aboard the train were taken hostage by Baloch fighters. The Pakistani Army claimed to have rescued the passengers by running ‘Operation Green Bolan’, in which many lives were also lost.
