The posts being made on this page are hurting his image. The former Indian captain alleged that the so-called unofficial page has 36 lakh followers and misleading posts are being shared on it, which are trying to defame him.

According to news agency PTI, Ganguly wrote in his complaint, “I understand that people who are associated with public life have to face criticism. But such misleading, defamatory and misleading posts that are harmful to my reputation are not acceptable at all. Legal action is necessary for this.”

The veteran player urged the police to take action as soon as possible against the people running this unofficial page. He also demanded that immediate action should be taken to stop such misleading posts from appearing further on social media.

According to the report, a senior police officer also confirmed that action will be taken soon on the complaint lodged by Ganguly.
