Let us tell you that UPPSC is a constitutional institution. It has been formed under Articles 315 to 323 of the Constitution of India. There is a provision in the Constitution for the formation of Public Service Commission for the Center and the States so that qualified and talented candidates can be recruited in government services.

When was it formed?

UPPSC was formed on 1 April 1937. The purpose of its establishment was to select eligible candidates for different departments and services of the Uttar Pradesh Government. Its headquarters is located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

The functioning of the Commission is governed under the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Regulations, 1976. From time to time, reforms have been made by the State Government and the Commission to improve the recruitment processes.

Why was there a need for Public Service Commission?

During the British era, Indians demanded that they should be given more opportunities in higher administrative services. In view of this, there was a need for independent and impartial institutions for recruitment in government services. According to reports, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission came into existence on 1 April 1937.

What is the work of an unworthy person?

The function of UPPSC is to recruit officers and employees in various departments of the state government. The Commission selects candidates for different posts through various selection processes. On some posts, recruitment is done only on the basis of interview, while on many posts, screening test and interview are conducted. Apart from this, in some recruitments, selection is done only on the basis of written examination.

Apart from recruitment, there are many responsibilities also.

UPPSC not only conducts recruitment examinations but the commission also advises the state government on matters related to service rules. Apart from this, the Commission also plays an important role in matters related to departmental promotion.

A big news related to Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has come out. The Commission has declared the result of PCS Main Exam 2024. 2719 candidates declared successful in this examination have been selected for interview. This result has been officially released by the Commission. Let us tell you that a total of 13776 candidates appeared in the examination. Candidates can check the exam results by visiting the official website of the department.

Result of PCS Mains 2024 exam declared

According to the information, the written examination of PCS Mains Exam 2024 was conducted from 29 June 2025 to 2 July 2025. This examination was conducted at the examination centers located in Prayagraj and Lucknow. A total of 13,776 candidates had appeared in the Mains examination, out of which now 2719 candidates have been declared successful for the next stage. A total of 24 types of cadre posts are to be recruited through PCS examination, for which a total of 947 posts are earmarked. According to the information released by the Commission, selection for 60 of these posts will be done only on the basis of written examination. The result of these posts will be declared along with the final stage result.

Know how the selection will be done

The selection process for the remaining 887 posts will be completed on the basis of both written examination and interview. Successful candidates for these posts will have to appear in the next stage of interview. The Commission has clarified that separate information will be issued regarding the date and schedule of the interview. This result has been declared by Ashok Kumar, Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. PCS examination is considered to be among the most prestigious administrative examinations of the state, hence after the declaration of the results, there is a lot of enthusiasm among the candidates.

Assistant Professors Recruitment: If you are from Uttar Pradesh and are waiting for new recruitment, then this news is for you. Actually, bumper recruitment is going to start in Uttar Pradesh soon. According to the government’s plan, recruitment for the posts of Assistant Professor will be started soon, for which the Directorate of Education has finalized the recruitment process. All these recruitments will be done through Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC), for which information about vacant posts will be sent to UPPSC as soon as possible by the Directorate of Education.

Earlier, information was sent by the Directorate of Education to the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission about 562 vacant posts of assistant professors in 23 subjects, whose notification may be issued soon. Now the recruitment process has also been approved for 71 new degree colleges, which has increased the number of assistant posts.

1698 Assistant Professor posts will be recruited

Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission plans to remove recruitment for the posts of 1698 Assistant Professors in government degree colleges in the upcoming academic session 2025-26. According to Higher Education Director Amit Bhardwaj, 1,136 assistant professors are to be recruited to start operating 71 new government colleges in the state. To fill these posts, information will be given to UPPSC soon. He informed that earlier, 562 posts of assistant professors in 23 subjects have been reported to UPPSC. In this way, the number of vacant posts of assistant professors has increased to 1698.

71 colleges will be recruited for these subjects

According to the information, additional 16 teaching posts have been approved for each in 71 new degree colleges of Uttar Pradesh. In this, eight in art, five in science, two in commerce and one in library are to be recruited. According to the information, applications for these posts will be released by UPPSC in the next recruitment.
