Let us tell you that UPPSC is a constitutional institution. It has been formed under Articles 315 to 323 of the Constitution of India. There is a provision in the Constitution for the formation of Public Service Commission for the Center and the States so that qualified and talented candidates can be recruited in government services.
When was it formed?
UPPSC was formed on 1 April 1937. The purpose of its establishment was to select eligible candidates for different departments and services of the Uttar Pradesh Government. Its headquarters is located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
The functioning of the Commission is governed under the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Regulations, 1976. From time to time, reforms have been made by the State Government and the Commission to improve the recruitment processes.
Why was there a need for Public Service Commission?
During the British era, Indians demanded that they should be given more opportunities in higher administrative services. In view of this, there was a need for independent and impartial institutions for recruitment in government services. According to reports, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission came into existence on 1 April 1937.

What is the work of an unworthy person?
The function of UPPSC is to recruit officers and employees in various departments of the state government. The Commission selects candidates for different posts through various selection processes. On some posts, recruitment is done only on the basis of interview, while on many posts, screening test and interview are conducted. Apart from this, in some recruitments, selection is done only on the basis of written examination.
Apart from recruitment, there are many responsibilities also.
UPPSC not only conducts recruitment examinations but the commission also advises the state government on matters related to service rules. Apart from this, the Commission also plays an important role in matters related to departmental promotion.
