Team India’s masterplan to conquer Sri Lanka, will play a special match of 4 days before the test series, complete schedule released

The Indian cricket team will play a two-match Test series on Sri Lanka tour next month. Before this important series, Team India will finalize its preparations through a four-day warm-up match. The Indian team, captained by Shubman Gill, will reach Colombo on August 4, where after practicing for a few days, it will play warm-up matches from August 7.

There will be a four-day warm-up match before the series

The Indian team will play a four-day warm-up match at the Nondescript Cricket Club (NCC) ground in Colombo from 7 to 10 August. The purpose of this match is to give the players an opportunity to adapt themselves to the conditions of Sri Lanka. Before the warm-up match, the team will also take part in some practice sessions. After the warm-up match, the Indian team will leave for Galle. The first match of the Test series between the two countries will be played at the Galle International Cricket Stadium from 15 to 19 August. After this, the second and last test will be held from 23 to 27 August at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. Both the matches will start at 10 am local time.

The series will be important from WTC point of view

This Test series is considered very important for both India and Sri Lanka in terms of the World Test Championship. Both the teams will take the field with the intention of strengthening their position in the points table. At present, India is at fifth position in the points table of the World Test Championship with 48.15 percent points. Sri Lanka is at sixth position with 44.44 percent marks. In such a situation, the result of this series is going to be very important for both the teams.

India will play test series in Sri Lanka after 8 years

The Indian team will play a Test series in Sri Lanka for the first time since 2017. Last time, under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, India won the series by defeating Sri Lanka 3-0. India played its last Test match against Afghanistan in June, in which the team won by an innings margin. On the other hand, Sri Lanka had to face 0-1 defeat against West Indies in its last Test series.
