Veteran musician Ramalakshman, known for his work in films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’, and ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, died on 22 May 2021. People still remember him for his music in Rajshree Productions films.
Special identity of Ramlaxman alias Vijay Kashinath Patil
Ramlaxman’s real name was Vijay Kashinath Patil. He gave music in more than 150 films in Hindi, Bhojpuri and Marathi. He got special recognition in the films of Rajshree Production. Dada Kondke introduced Ramlaxman to work in Marathi films. After this, Ramlaxman also gave music in many Hindi films of Dada Kondke.

Vijay Patil’s musical journey
Vijay Patil was born on 16 September 1942 in Nagpur. Vijay, who had a deep passion for music since childhood, took traditional training and learned to play various instruments such as piano, accordion and drums.
Entry into cinema with ‘Agent Vinod’
In 1977, he entered Hindi cinema with the film ‘Agent Vinod’. However, Ram i.e. Surendra of this pair died soon. Vijay Patil kept the Ram Laxman brand alive by moving forward with the name ‘Laxman’. In the year 1989, Sooraj Barjatya’s film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ made Ramlaxman an overnight star.

Salman-Bhagyashree’s movie songs are hits even today

In the year 1994 ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’ The film came. Ramlaxman worked with veteran singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar, Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu. His music also added charm to films like ‘100 Days’, ‘Patthar Ke Phool’, ‘Police Public’, ‘Muskurahat’.
Vijay Patil liked to remain in less discussion. He considered music as his identity. He breathed his last on 22 May 2021 at the age of 79. There was an atmosphere of mourning everywhere due to the news of his demise.
