Actually, ‘Captain’ and ‘Leader’ are written on Suryakumar Yadav’s T-shirt. Captain has been crossed out with a line, while ‘Leader’ is clearly visible in big letters. People started making different types of claims on social media. Some said that Surya has taken a dig at the selectors after being dropped from the T20 squad.
Let us remind you that in March this year, under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian team won the title of 2026 T20 World Cup. But as soon as the first series after IPL 2026 came, not only was the captaincy taken away from Suryakumar, he also had to be dropped from the team.

The main reason for Surya’s drop from the team was his personal form. Excluding the series against New Zealand, Surya could not even touch the total of 100 runs in the last five T20 series. Suryakumar’s record as captain was very good, because under his captaincy, Team India had won 16 consecutive series.
