There was an uproar over this action of Avesh Khan, Sunrisers Hyderabad will complain to BCCI, know the whole matter.

Last Sunday, in IPL 2026, Lucknow Super Giants won over Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 wickets. This was LSG’s first win in the season. After the winning four hit by captain Rishabh Pant, the entire camp of Lucknow team and team owner Sanjeev Goenka also looked very happy. But amidst this celebration of victory, Avesh Khan is embroiled in controversies. Avesh has done such an act, due to which there is an uproar on social media.

Uproar over Avesh Khan’s actions

Actually, this is the case of the last ball of LSG’s innings, on which Rishabh Pant gave victory to his team by hitting a four. The ball was going straight towards the dug out of Lucknow Super Giants team, but Avesh Khan hit the ball with his bat and sent it back inside the field. The dispute arose over whether the ball had reached the boundary or not.

There is a strong debate on social media regarding the issue that the ball did not reach the boundary, hence Sunrisers Hyderabad should have been given 5 extra runs as a penalty on LSG. One person even said that the umpires should have called it a dead ball under Article 20.1 of the IPL rules, because it should have been considered unfair play.

This argument may be correct that it was not necessary for Avesh to hit the ball with the bat, but as per the rules it cannot be counted under unfair play, because there was no fielder present there. Therefore, it cannot be assumed that Avesh Khan has hindered the efforts of any fielder.

SRH camp is not happy

According to Cricbuzz, the Sunrisers Hyderabad camp is not happy with Avesh Khan’s actions and can complain to the BCCI. Even before this, the SRH camp has expressed displeasure over poor umpiring. In the same tournament, the Hyderabad team has expressed displeasure over the wicket of Heinrich Klaasen in the match against RCB and the dismissal of Abhishek Sharma in the match against KKR.
