Sunrisers Hyderabad, batting first, scored 165 runs. SRH team lost its last 9 wickets in just 60 runs. Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen’s bat could not perform in this match. Hyderabad team is riding on Vijayarath, which has won 5 consecutive matches but Hyderabad’s batting surrendered in front of KKR.
At one time Sunrisers Hyderabad had scored 105 runs at the loss of one wicket. After that, the bowlers of Kolkata Knight Riders wreaked such havoc that no batsman including Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, Salil Arora could play a big innings. Travis Head was out in the 9th over, who played a brilliant inning of 61 runs in 28 balls.
Even till the 11th over, the run rate of the Hyderabad team was going well, but then Rovman Powell took an incredible catch of Heinrich Klaasen, from there the decline of the Hyderabad team started. Klaasen was out after scoring 11 runs. Within just 17 runs, the wickets of Smaran Ravichandran, Salil Arora and Aniket Verma had fallen, exposing SRH’s lower-middle order batting.
KKR has to win at any cost
Kolkata Knight Riders are currently at eighth position in the points table with five points. If it wants to keep its playoff hopes alive, it will have to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad at all costs. Kolkata has completed half the journey towards victory as the bowlers performed well and restricted SRH to just 165 runs. The rest depends on the batsmen.
