The second round of talks between America and Iran is starting again. Iran’s delegation has reached Islamabad for the talks to be mediated by Pakistan. The Iranian delegation has arrived under the leadership of Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, whereas JD Vance is not present in the American delegation this time.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi arrived in Islamabad on Friday with a delegation to restart the stalled talks between Iran and the US. This conversation is also taking place due to the efforts of Pakistan. Officials said Araghchi is expected to meet Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal General Asim Munir during his visit.
Iran refused direct talks
Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has shared photos with the Iranian delegation that reached Islamabad under the leadership of Araghchi, in which Asim Munir and Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi are welcoming the Iranian leaders. The Iranian Foreign Ministry said that there is no plan for direct talks between America and Iran.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baqai said in a post on X that the Iranian delegation has arrived in Islamabad for an official visit. He said that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will hold talks with the leaders of Pakistan whose aim is to end this war, which the US has imposed on Tehran. Bakai clarified that there are no plans for any meeting between Iran and America. He said that Iran’s proposal will be sent to America through Pakistan.
When will the American delegation arrive?
The American delegation is expected to reach Islamabad. America is also preparing to establish diplomatic contacts, under which Trump’s special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner can reach Islamabad for discussions. White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt confirmed this and said that the talks will take place directly, but Pakistan will mediate in it. He further said that Vice President JD Vance will be involved in the talks, coordinating with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the national security team from Washington.

Iran will accept America’s demands: Trump
Before talks in Pakistan, Donald Trump said on Friday that Iran is preparing to make a proposal aimed at meeting America’s demands. “They’re making a proposal and we’ll have to see,” Trump said in a phone interview with Reuters. He further said that he has not yet received information about the details of the proposal.
Who is America talking to in Iran? Trump’s answer
The US President reiterated that any potential deal must include Iran giving up its enriched uranium and ensuring unhindered movement of oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump also expressed concern about Iran’s leadership. US officials hinted at internal differences among leaders in Tehran. When asked with whom Washington was in talks, he refused to name individuals and said, ‘We are talking to those who are currently in power.’
The US President further said that the US military will continue the blockade of Iranian ports until an agreement is reached. Regarding what conditions can be imposed to lift the blockade, Trump said that the decision will be taken only after reviewing Iran’s proposal.
