The atmosphere remained heated on Tuesday in protest against the lathicharge during the Cockroach Janata Party protest on 20th July. The political temperature increased when Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal to Sharad Pawar arrived at Jantar Mantar to join the CJP protest, while on the other hand many Congress leaders including Rahul, Priyanka Gandhi sat on protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence.

Congress leaders protest outside PM residence
Congress took out a march to Lok Kalyan Marg on Tuesday (July 21) in protest against the lathicharge during the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest on July 20. Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi sat on strike. Congress placed five major demands before the Central Government. He demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the Home Minister to give a statement on this matter in both the Houses and the entire matter to be discussed in the House. He also said that the issues related to the students should be heard seriously and an impartial investigation should be conducted into the violence and police action taken during the protest.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh came to convince Rahul
Union Minister Jitendra Singh arrived to convince Rahul Gandhi to end the protest. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan was also with him. He appealed to Rahul Gandhi to end the protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence. Jitendra Singh returned after meeting for about 30 minutes, but the talks between the two sides could not reach any result.
Government ready for discussion on NEET in the House
Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that Rahul Gandhi had demanded that if the government agrees to discuss all the issues related to NEET and its related movement in the Parliament, then he will immediately end his protest. Within moments of getting permission from the top leadership of the government, Rahul Gandhi was assured that his demand has been accepted and the government is ready to discuss all issues related to NEET and the movement related to it in Parliament.
Rahul Gandhi adamant on Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation
Union Minister Jitendra Singh accused Rahul Gandhi of reneging on his promise. He said, ‘When this information was given to Rahul Gandhi, he said that he would not only agree to this, but would also seek assurance of the resignation of the Union Education Minister. When he was reminded that earlier he had only demanded discussion, he said that now my demands have changed. It is unfortunate for a senior leader like Rahul Gandhi to go back on his promise and against every rule of democracy.

Rahul, Priyanka Akhilesh detained by police
When the protest did not end after Union Minister Jitendra Singh met Rahul Gandhi, the police detained Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and many other leaders and took them away in a bus. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi also protested during the police arrest. After being detained, Rahul Gandhi said that no matter what the government does, the fight for justice will not stop. He said, ‘Modi ji, try every effort, use all your strength – this fight for justice of the students will not stop now.’

CJP announces protest outside Delhi Police Headquarters
Amidst the Congress’s protest at the PM’s residence, the Cockroach Janata Party announced a protest outside the Delhi Police Headquarters today (July 21) at 8 pm. CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said in a post on X, ‘Delhi Police has detained hundreds of peaceful protesters after using brutal, almost lethal force. Now they are not allowing the lawyers to meet them nor are they giving us the complete list of the detained people. Therefore, we will hold a peaceful protest outside the Delhi Police Headquarters at 8 pm tonight, if this constitutional right of the detained people is not followed before this!
