How much food was ordered in June?
Recently a report of Swiggy has been released, in which it has been said that there has been a significant increase in the demand for their ‘Food on Train’ service between April and June 2026. During this period, food orders in trains increased three times as compared to last year. According to the company, more people traveled by train during summer holidays, due to which the use of this service also increased. Many passengers ordered food for two or more stations on a single ticket (PNR). Such orders increased by more than 300% compared to last year. These passengers spent about 2.2 times more than those who ordered at a station.

What was the biggest order?
The demand for cold drinks and sweets also increased significantly during the summer season. Soft drink orders increased by 354%, ice cream orders by 140% and lassi orders doubled. At the same time, Mango Shake was the most favorite summer drink, the demand for which increased almost 10 times compared to winter. Talking about food, more than 4 lakh rotis were ordered through Swiggy in summer. Roti was the most ordered food item. This was followed by Masala Dosa, Aloo Paratha and Mac Aloo Tikki Burger. Chicken Biryani was most liked among non-veg.
new railway stations added
Not only this, the company has also added 17 new railway stations to its service in this quarter. These stations also include Gurugram, Udaipur, Bikaner, Nanded and Nizamabad. Apart from this, the company has extended its service to more than 180 cities of the country. Many passengers booked meals four days before the start of their journey.
