Know the rules of railways

Under the Railway Property Act, luggage provided in the train such as blankets, sheets, pillows are considered the property of Indian Railways and are given to the passengers for their use during the journey and are not taken away after the completion of the journey.

Fine may be imposed

• According to the Railways, if any passenger is found carrying bedroll material with him, action can be taken against him.
• If someone is caught doing this for the first time, he can be jailed for up to 1 year.
• Besides, a fine of up to Rs 1,000 can also be imposed.
• If someone commits this crime again, he can be jailed for up to 5 years.
• If RPF i.e. Railway Protection Force suspects any passenger then they can search.
• If goods are found during the search, action will be taken.

Now those who steal are in trouble

• Railways has given instructions to coach attendants to reduce such thefts.
• Now the bedroll will be withdrawn half an hour before the train reaches its destination station.
• Along with this, Railways is now preparing to install RFID chips on its bedrock material.
• After this, if any passenger tries to take the bedroll out of the station, a sensor alert will be issued.

Do these things before getting off the train

• After using the bedroll, leave it on the seat.
• If you keep it in the bag by mistake, immediately call the coat attendant and return it.
• Check your bag once before getting off the train.
• Do not take any railway property with you even by mistake.
