Middle East Conflicts: A major development has come to light amid the ongoing conflict and tension between America and Iran in the Middle East. The US Army claimed on Friday (May 8, 2026) that it has disabled two more Iranian-flagged oil tankers, M/T Sea Star III and M/T Sevda. There is also news of 10 Iranian soldiers being injured in the firing during this incident. The US Army said that action was taken against these two tankers when they were trying to break the US Navy blockade near the Strait of Hormuz and enter an Iranian port located in the Gulf of Oman. America alleged that these ships were violating the ongoing American blockade in the Strait of Hormuz.
Centcom shared information about attack on Iranian ship
According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter aircraft, which took off from USS George HW Bush (CVN 77), scored precision strikes on the chimneys of both tankers, killing them. Earlier on Wednesday (May 6, 2026) also, American forces had deactivated M/T Hasna.

According to Centcom, this ship was also heading towards an Iranian port in the Gulf of Oman. An F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter aircraft flying from USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) fired several rounds from its 20 mm cannon, damaging the tanker ship’s rudder. Centcom said that now these three ships are not moving towards Iran.

Commander Brad Cooper of US Central Command (CENTCOM) said, ‘US forces in the Middle East are committed to fully enforcing the blockade of ships coming to and from Iran. Our soldiers are doing a wonderful job.
According to the US military, many commercial ships have been disabled and the route of more than 50 ships has been changed to ensure compliance with the blockade.
