Lakhs of candidates who appeared in the UGC NET June 2026 examination are now waiting for the provisional answer key. National Testing Agency (NTA) may soon release the question paper and answer sheet on the official website. After the release of the answer key, candidates will be able to match their answers and if there is any objection to any answer, they will also be able to file an online challenge with the prescribed fee.
Provisional answer key of UGC NET 2026 may be released soon
National Testing Agency (NTA) had conducted the UGC NET June 2026 examination from June 22 to June 30, 2026 at various examination centers across the country. After the completion of the examination, now the candidates are eyeing the provisional answer key. It is expected that NTA can release the answer key any time on the official website ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Along with this, response sheets and question papers of the candidates will also be made available.
What does the trend of last years tell us?
If we look at the records of previous years, NTA usually releases the provisional answer key within one to two weeks of the completion of the examination. In the year 2025, the examination was held from 25 to 29 June and the answer key was released on 6 July. Whereas in 2024 and 2023 also, the provisional answer key was released a few days after the end of the examination. Looking at this trend, it is believed that this time also the wait of the candidates may end soon.
What will be found in UGC NET Answer Key
After the release of the provisional answer key, candidates will be able to match their question paper, response sheet and official answers. This will make it easier for them to understand how many of their answers are correct in the exam and what is the possible score. If there is doubt on any answer, candidates can also choose to challenge it.

How to file objection on answer key
If you have any objection to the answer to any question in the provisional answer key, you can file an online challenge within the time fixed by NTA. For this, first of all go to ugcnet.nta.nic.in website and click on Challenge Answer Key link. After this login by entering your application number and date of birth or password. Now select the question on which objection is to be lodged and upload the necessary documents in support of it. After this, submit your objection by paying the prescribed fee per question online. After the application is submitted, download its receipt and keep it safe with you.

Step 2: Click on the UGC NET June 2026 Provisional Answer Key link visible on the home page.
Step 3: Now login by entering your Application Number and Date of Birth or Password.

Step 5: Match all the answers carefully and download the PDF of the Answer Key for future and keep its printout safe.
