Ujjwala Yojana New Rules: The Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has indicated that there has been a change in the number of subsidized LPG cylinders available under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). Now this number has been reduced from 9 to 4. Although no clear announcement has been made by the government regarding this, but in the recent statement of the ministry, it has been said that Ujjwala families will get a subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder on the first four refills every year.
How many cylinders will Ujjwala customers get?
According to the latest information, PMUY beneficiaries will get a subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder on the first four LPG refills every year. This means that a total subsidy of Rs 1200 will be given to a family in a year.

Indirect subsidy is available on LPG
According to the government, Ujjwala beneficiaries are already getting the benefit of indirect subsidy. On June 7, the price of LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 29. After this, the ministry says that Ujjwala beneficiaries get a 14.2 kg cylinder for around Rs 642, while common users have to pay up to Rs 942. In fact its supply cost is said to be more than Rs 1600. The government claims that Ujjwala users get indirect subsidy of up to Rs 1,000.
