During the NEET examination, a case has come to light of a Muslim female candidate wearing a burqa being stopped for about an hour at an examination center in Ajmer, Rajasthan. After this incident, debate has started at political and social level. After the matter came to light, different reactions have come from Congress, BJP and Muslim religious leaders.
Congress targeted the government
The Congress party has become an attacker on the government regarding this matter. National Vice President of Minority Department of Congress Party, Ruby Khan has called it a case of harassment.

Ruby Khan says that this is clearly a case of harassment. Stopping people for an hour in the name of allowing entry in burqa is completely wrong. Congress alleges that the student who had come to appear for the examination was unnecessarily harassed, due to which she had to face mental stress.
BJP laid emphasis on following the rules
At the same time, Bharatiya Janata Party has advised to avoid giving religious or political color to this matter. BJP’s state media co-incharge Rachit Kachhawa says that everyone should follow the rules. This should not at all be viewed through a religious or political lens. If there is a need to take more strict measures to prevent irregularities, they should also be taken.
BJP says that it is most important to maintain fairness of the examination and rules related to security and identity apply equally to all candidates.
Muslim religious leader expressed displeasure
Reaction has also come from the Muslim community on this matter. Mohammed Nazim, convenor of the Islamic Center of Jaipur, has expressed displeasure over the incident.
Mohammad Nazim says that such incidents make it clear how Muslims are being harassed. They are being targeted. This should not happen at all.
