He said that Tehran has submitted a proposal through Pakistan, the aim of which is to end this war completely.
According to the report of Al Jazeera, the statement of Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister has come at a time when US President Donald Trump has termed Iran’s peace proposal received through Pakistan as unsatisfactory. Trump said that he is not completely satisfied with the new peace proposal sent by Iran.

After the ceasefire with Iran entered its third week, US President Donald Trump said while talking to the media on Friday (May 1, 2026) that he does not know whether any agreement will be reached with Iran or not. He warned that if talks fail, he will destroy Iran. He said, ‘They (Iran) want to compromise, but I am not satisfied with it, so we will see what happens.’
He also said that he would prefer to reach a compromise to prevent war from happening again, but that conflict could resume if necessary. He further said, ‘Iran is making such demands with which I cannot agree.’
Talks between America and Iran stalled for several weeks
Talks to end the war between America and Iran have been stalled for the last several weeks. The first round of peace talks were held between the two sides on April 11, 2026 in Islamabad hosted by Pakistan. The American delegation led by Vice President JD Vance presented its views in detail to the Iranian side. Talks between the two sides continued for more than 21 hours, but this meeting could not reach any concrete result.
