‘We will bow our heads and accept the mandate but…’, after Mamata Banerjee’s allegations, Abhishek Banerjee put a condition

After TMC’s defeat in West Bengal, the party’s National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee said that we have not lost, but we have been defeated by looting votes. He said, ‘Votes in EVMs probably cannot be manipulated, but EVM machines can be changed. When the EVM on which the vote was cast is being matched on the counting table, the serial number is not matching. He accused the Election Commission of rigging.

There were only central employees at the counting centre: Abhishek Banerjee

Abhishek Banerjee said, ‘After 2 o’clock all the counting agents were killed and driven away and all this is recorded in the CCTV footage. 80-90 percent counting should have been completed by 2 pm, but till yesterday afternoon only 2 or 3 rounds of counting were completed and in some places 20 rounds were left, in some places 24 rounds were left. The Supreme Court had directed that both state and central employees should be present, but at many counting centers there were only central employees.

Election Commission challenged to release CCTV footage

He said, ‘How many votes is the difference between TMC and BJP? Of the 32 lakh votes, you had already removed 30 lakh voters from the voter list and then added 7 lakh more voters to it. The counting of 10-15 lakh votes was manipulated. Abhishek Banerjee said, ‘I challenge the Election Commission to release the CCTV footage of the counting centre. Especially the footage for 6 hours after 12 o’clock. If there is a mandate then you make it (CCTV footage) public. We will bow our heads and accept the mandate given by the people. There will be a discussion in the party and in the coming days we will form a fact finding committee.

We are being tortured: Abhishek Banerjee

TMC general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said, ‘We are being tortured. All Trinamool soldiers stay strong, the party stands firmly with you. A fact finding committee of 12 members has been formed. Three separate teams have been formed and our tour will begin the day after tomorrow.

He said, ‘There is no question of constitutional crisis. Every person has the right to protest. They thought this was my protest. Apart from this, the rest is up to the Central Government or the Competent Authority has the right to decide. Everyone has the right to protest.
