West Bengal Election Results: ‘Employees on duty are sharing details’, Shubhendu Adhikari’s big allegation before the counting of Bengal elections.

The political atmosphere in West Bengal has become more heated before the counting of votes on May 4, 2026. BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari has made serious allegations regarding the counting process. Shubhendu Adhikari shared the screenshot on social media platform X and claimed that many officers engaged in counting duty are sharing information related to their deployment outside. According to the BJP leader, these officers are telling information like their place of duty, position and responsibilities to the organizations or associations of their department.

Shubhendu Adhikari also said that some spreadsheets and lists are being circulated in which officials themselves or under pressure are filling the information related to their election duties. This information also includes their role in the counting process. Shubhendu Adhikari says that this is a serious violation of election rules and can lead to many problems. He believes that if information about the posting of an officer reaches organizations that may have political inclinations, then pressure can be put on him or attempts can be made to influence him.

The fairness of Bengal’s election results will be affected
The leader of the opposition in the Bengal Assembly also said that the fairness of the counting process largely depends on the fact that the information about the officer’s posting is kept secret. If this confidentiality is broken then the fairness of the results may be affected. Apart from this, he expressed apprehension that collecting information in this way may also be an attempt by some organizations to put pressure on the officer, so that a particular party can be benefited during the counting.

Demand for intervention from Election Commission

With these allegations, Shubhendu Adhikari has demanded immediate intervention of the Election Commission and the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal. He said that officers should be given strict instructions not to share any information related to their counting duties with any organization or association. Along with this, he also demanded that such organizations should be investigated which are collecting such sensitive information.
