West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026: Voting for the first phase of assembly elections is going on in West Bengal today (April 23, 2026). During the election season in the state, incidents of violence have also come to light at many places, meanwhile, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra has created a new controversy. He has publicly disclosed the alleged location and activities of two senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders named Saurabh Singh and Swadesh Singh.
Along with this, Moitra has also warned both the BJP leaders that even the party president i.e. BJP national president Nitin Nabin will not be able to save them here.
TMC MP threatens BJP leaders in X post
Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra shared a scathing post on social media platform X on Thursday (April 23, 2026) at around 1.30 pm, which looked like a hit list. In this post, along with BJP leaders Saurabh Singh and Professor Swadesh Singh, tennis player Leander Paes, who recently joined BJP, was also seen. In the picture, both the leaders were shown in a red circle with ‘S+S’ written above it, which probably represents the initials of their names.

Mahua Moitra, Lok Sabha MP from Krishnanagar, West Bengal, alleged that Saurabh Singh was involved in distribution activities to influence voters in Bengal. Moitra also shared information about her current location and next place in her post. He wrote, ‘Attention Saurabh Singh, after my tweet you are checking out from Elgin Hotel and going to Novotel, where you will continue the distribution with your team. This is Bengal, even Nitin Nabin will not be able to save you here.

Moitra has also threatened Swadesh Singh and Saurav Singh before.
This was the second such warning given by Mahua Moitra. Earlier he had alleged that these leaders have been sent by the BJP leadership to distribute and extort cash. He said, ‘What are professors Swadesh Singh and Saurabh Singh of Satyawati College doing in Bengal? To extort money by calling people and distributing cash in the name of BJP President Nitin Nabin.
After this, he gave them a strict warning and said, ‘We are keeping an eye, you will not be able to escape.’ However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not yet responded to these allegations and statements of Moitra.
