When Akshay Kumar was teaching martial arts, someone had asked him to try modeling. However, he did not have money to get his portfolio shot. In such a situation, Akshay Kumar worked for free for 18 months with famous photographer Jayesh Seth. So that they can prepare their portfolio. After this he used to go for auditions. Akshay himself has made this disclosure in many of his interviews.
