Bollywood actress Sushmita Sen is a proud singer mother of two daughters. In the year 2000, when the actress was just 24 years old, she decided to become a singer mother by adopting her elder daughter Renee Sen. However, due to this decision he had to face a lot of opposition from the film industry. The actress recently told that because of adopting a daughter, her manager had stopped representing her and warned that after becoming a mother, she would not get even small roles.
Manager ran away after adopting daughter
In fact, in an interview given to NDTV, Sushmita told that after adopting her daughter, she had to face a lot of opposition from the industry. Recalling one incident, Sushmita said, “My manager ran away. He said, ‘You are not serious about your career, and I can’t represent someone who has become a mother at the age of 24. You won’t even get character roles.’ He ran away, and I felt like I got rid of the bad guy. I didn’t have much problem with it. And you won’t believe it – it was only after becoming a mother that I gave my biggest hits.”
‘Your rules don’t apply to me’
The actress further said that most of the opposition came from other women, although she believes that now the situation is slowly changing. She further said, “But for this I had to say that these are the rules, believe it or not. And I believed that I am an independent woman. I have no guide. No one gave me any platform. I have done everything on my own. So your rules do not apply to me. My rules apply to me. My rules say that this is what I want to do. I want to be a young mother. And I am unable in any way to take care of this child and give him the best childhood. It didn’t want to happen. And that was the time, and thankfully it took a lot of hard work, but it all worked out.”
Let us tell you that after becoming a mother, some of Sushmita’s hit films include ‘Main Hoon Na’ with Shahrukh Khan in 2004 and ‘Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya’ with Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan in 2005.
