US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore has said that Trump is very eager to visit India and wishes to accept the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At the same time, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also indicated that Trump may visit India early next year. What did Sergio Gore say?
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore said that at present the date of President Donald Trump’s visit to India has not been decided, but he himself was with Trump in the Oval Office a few hours ago. Gore told that during the conversation, Trump himself asked, ‘When am I coming to India?’ It is clear that he is very excited about coming to India. Gore said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited Trump to visit India and he is confident that the visit will definitely take place.

Marco Rubio also gave hints
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that America is trying to get President Trump to visit India early next year. He told that he himself is planning to come to India by the end of this year, so that preparations for the possible visit of the President can be finalized.

Rubio said that India is a very close partner of America and the strong personal relationship between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Donald Trump further strengthens the relations between the two countries.

Trade deal in final stages
Rubio said that negotiations on bilateral trade agreement between India and America have reached the final stages. He said that both the countries are very close to finalizing the agreement and the talks have been very positive. He said, ‘We had a wonderful meeting with Prime Minister Modi. The trade deal is now in the final stages and we hope that it will be completed soon.

Trump’s first visit to India after 2020
If this visit goes as per schedule, it will be Donald Trump’s first visit to India after February 2020. At the same time, this will be his first visit to India even after becoming President for the second time. Trump and Prime Minister Modi last met during the G-7 summit held in France, which was the first bilateral meeting of the two leaders after 16 months.

Focus will also be on Quad and strategic partnership
Marco Rubio said that both the countries are also waiting for the next meeting of the Quad group. He expressed hope that he will come to India by the end of this year and will take forward the preparations for President Trump’s visit.

On energy cooperation, Rubio said that India and America are working together to increase energy supply. He said that India is among the few countries which have the capacity to refine heavy crude. In such a situation, cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector is also expected to strengthen in the coming times.
