Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a huge sum of Rs 25.20 crore. Till now Green has not been able to play any big innings with the bat, but there is talk about his not bowling. Now KKR bowling coach Tim Southee has told when Green will bowl.
Cameron Green started bowling in the nets
Tim Southee said on Sunday that Cameron Green has started bowling in the nets. He will soon be seen bowling in the match. Speaking to reporters before the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings, Tim Southee said, “Yes, Cameron Green is bowling well and is working on his recovery. He is preparing himself to bowl again. He will continue to do so.”
Difficult to bowl in the match against Punjab Kings
It is noteworthy that Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has not bowled in IPL 2026 yet, because Cricket Australia (CA) is keeping an eye on his workload after his back surgery. However, it is unlikely that Green will bowl against Punjab Kings on Monday. Even though he was seen bowling at full speed in a practice session on Saturday.
On Sunday, the training at Eden Gardens, a day before the match, was canceled due to rain, in which most of the regular players did not participate while some domestic players did indoor training, including Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Rahul Tripathi.
Let us tell you that in the first match of IPL 2026, Kolkata team lost while defending more than 200 runs. After this, captain Ajinkya Rahane was asked why Cameron Green did not bowl. On this Rahane had replied that this question should be asked to Cricket Australia. Since then, Green’s non-bowling has been in the news.
