Due to this, 1 Indian tourist has died, while 3 others are undergoing treatment in the hospital. What did the Indian Embassy say?
The Indian Embassy in Thailand wrote on Twitter that the Embassy is in touch with Thai authorities and is closely monitoring the incident in which 4 Indian tourists fainted in Phuket on May 9, 2026 and were later admitted to the hospital for treatment. The embassy further said that we express our deepest condolences on the death of one of the young Indian tourists.

Embassy officials are in touch with the family of the deceased. According to information shared by Bangkok Post, police have confirmed that a 26-year-old Indian tourist died and three others are still in the hospital after mysteriously fainting in a cafe in Phuket on Saturday morning. According to local officials, this incident took place in Kamla Beach area of Kathu district. Emergency help was called after four foreign tourists fainted in a famous cafe. 3 have been admitted to Patong Hospital and 1 to Thalang Hospital.
What did the cafe’s security staff tell?
The police went to both the hospitals and tried to record the statements of the victims. However, the three youths were not able to give any statement. The security staff of the cafe told that around 11 pm on Friday night, 5 Indians had come to the cafe together. They have been identified as Kushagra Agarwal, Rahul Agarwal, another man named Rahul Agarwal, Aman Agarwal and Aryan Verma. At around 1.54 in the night, 4 members of the group became unconscious one by one. The fifth person, Aryan Verma, did not show any symptoms.
Patong Hospital later said that the two men, Kushagra Agarwal and Rahul Agarwal, were in coma and have been transferred to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further treatment. At around 2 pm on Saturday afternoon, the police were informed that Kushagra Aggarwal had died.
