8th Pay Commission: Employee unions are continuously putting forward their new demands regarding the 8th Pay Commission. In this sequence, his new demand is to review the Pay Commission every five years instead of every 10 years.

Unions say that the salary hike (DA) they are getting is not enough considering the speed with which inflation is increasing. He made this demand during the recent conversation with the Eighth Pay Commission in Delhi.

The difference in salary increases

Employee unions say that due to the review of Pay Commission after an interval of 10 years, the difference in salary between lower level employees and officers increases significantly. You can understand it in this way – Suppose the salary of an employee is Rs 20,000 and the salary of an officer is Rs 2,000,00.

Meanwhile, if there is a salary hike of 5 percent under the Pay Commission, then on the basic salary of Rs 20,000, the employee will get a benefit of Rs 1,000, while the officer will get a direct increase of Rs 10,000. That is, even if the percentage is equal, there is a big difference in the money coming into the pocket. Some previous pay commissions had also suggested that the government should review the pay commission from time to time instead of waiting for a long period of 10 years.

When will the meeting be held again in Delhi?

Meanwhile, in an effort to extend the benefits of the Eighth Pay Commission to the central government employees and pensioners as soon as possible, a meeting of the employee unions of the Pay Commission is going to be held for two more days in Delhi.

Important meetings of the Pay Commission with organizations, unions and pensioners associated with the Defense Ministry and Railway Ministry are going to be held in Delhi on 13 and 14 May. During this, issues related to salary, pension, allowances and service rules of employees are expected to be discussed in detail.

To participate in these meetings being organized by the Central Government, unions will have to apply on the NIC portal. After submission of the memorandum, a memo ID will be given. The application process will be completed only through this ID.
