A few days ago, wrestler and actor Sangram Singh had created a sensation by defeating a Pakistani wrestler in just 90 seconds. Now he is preparing for his next MMA match in Europe. Recalling the night before the match against the Pakistani wrestler, he revealed that he had hardly slept for 2 hours that night.
In an interview given to NBT, Sangram Singh said, “To tell you the truth, I hardly slept for 2 hours that night (before the match against the Pakistani wrestler). If someone had seen my temperature, it would have been above 100.”
The wrestler told that his coach had also clearly told him that you can lose to a wrestler from Nepal or Bangladesh but do not lose to a wrestler from Pakistan. He told, “I woke up only when I got his first punch in the chest. That’s when you realize that playing against Pakistan is the most difficult thing, no matter what kind of game it is.”
Sangram Singh entered MMA at the age of 40
Sangram Singh is the first wrestler from India, who entered MMA at the age of more than 40. He wants to motivate the children of the new generation. He said that combat sports and football are very famous in India, but India does not have any big player in these sports. He felt bad about this. Now Sangram is going to participate in Europe’s biggest level fight. He will be the first wrestler from India to reach this milestone.
In this conversation he also remembered his difficult times. He suffered from arthritis in his childhood, due to which he was in a wheelchair for about 8 years till the age of 11. The doctors had even said that his disease could not be cured. Giving credit to his mother, he said that because of her he has been able to reach here today.
While giving a message to the youth, Sangram Singh said that they should never leave home food even on the advice of dietician. He said that the body gets everything from homemade bread, pulses and rice. He advised that the youth should exercise for at least 24 minutes a day.
