There are many rules prescribed in Vaastu Shastra for building construction, if followed, the shadow of negative energy does not fall on the new house and there is no hindrance in the construction of the house.

For the construction of a building, great importance has been given to the foundation of the house in Vastu Shastra. It is believed that as the foundation becomes stronger, the good fortune and stability of the house will also increase. Therefore, while laying the foundation of a house, it is considered auspicious to keep some special items in it.

The pair of silver snakes is considered to be the symbol of Sheshnag, who is holding the earth. Putting it in the foundation protects the house. Its mention is also found in Bhagwat Purana.

Similarly, copper Kalash is considered a symbol of prosperity. Ganga water, coins, turmeric, kumkum and flowers are kept in it, which brings blessings of Lakshmi and Vishnu.

By filling whole lump of turmeric, whole betel nut, four iron nails, basil, betel leaves, pancharatna, panchdhatu etc. in the foundation, purity and positive energy is maintained in the house.

Along with the items used to fill the foundation, keep in mind the direction as well. According to Vastu, Bhoomi Puja should always be done in the North-East corner. The person performing Bhoomi Pujan should be facing east and the Pandit performing the puja should be facing north.
