Amitabh had done two films with Rajesh before this film. Both were hits. One film was Khoon Pasina and the other was Mr. Natwarlal. Rajesh Kumar had also convinced Amitabh Bachchan for Do Aur Do Paanch. This film was made with a budget of Rs 1.5 crore and the film earned Rs 3 crore at the box office. But this film was not successful initially. Earlier this film had failed to attract the audience to the theatre. But then the film got the benefit of positive word of mouth. The chemistry of Amitabh and Shashi was liked.

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in the second part of the film Ramayana and Kalki AD 2898. Amitabh Bachchan has important roles in both the films. He is in the role of Jatayu in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. Whereas Kalki played the role of Ashwatthama in AD 2898.
