Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Indian women’s cricket team on Wednesday (November 5, 2025). During this, PM Modi discussed his preparations and strategy to win the World Cup. The Prime Minister congratulated the team on this victory and also praised their performance. While talking to the players, PM Modi was seen joking and laughing several times. The same thing happened when the Prime Minister talked to the women’s team’s fast bowler Arundhati Reddy and she gave a special message from her mother to PM Modi.
Arundhati Reddy told Prime Minister Modi that her mother is a big fan of PM Modi and she calls him her hero. Arundhati Reddy said, ‘First of all I have to give you a message from my mother. I didn’t think I would talk to you. My mother said that you are her hero. Till now he has called 4-5 times asking when is he meeting my hero, when is he meeting my hero. Hearing this from Arundhati Reddy, PM Modi and all the players started laughing loudly.
BCCI had selected a squad of 15 players for the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, in which Arundhati Reddy was also included. However, he did not get a chance to play a single match in the entire tournament. She was not included in the playing 11 even once, yet she got the distinction of world champion.
The ICC Women’s World Cup tournament was to start on 30 September and 4-5 days before that, Arundhati Reddy got injured in a practice match against England. Arundhati has so far played 11 ODIs and 38 T20 matches for Team India, in which her performance has been quite good. He has taken 15 wickets in ODI and 34 wickets in T20. He was injured before the World Cup tournament, after which he soon recovered and was also selected in the team.
