There was firing again on Chaman border between the armies of Pakistan and Afghanistan on Thursday (6 November 2025). Afghan media has claimed that apart from firing on the Afghan army, the Pakistani army also fired mortars. This clash is taking place at a time when representatives of both the countries are holding the third round of talks in Turkey.
PAK fired mortar as soon as peace talks started
As soon as peace talks between the two countries started in Turkey, the Pakistani Army violated the ceasefire. Chaman border crossing connects Spin Boldak to Kandahar province of Afghanistan. In Lukman village here, the Pakistani Army has violated the ceasefire and started firing on the military bases of Afghanistan. Apart from attacking the Afghan army, the Pakistani army has also targeted a shopping complex located in the village, after which a stampede-like situation was created in the entire area.
Pakistan also targeted residential areas
The armies of both the countries fired indiscriminately at each other. After the first round of talks between the two countries in Doha on October 19, an agreement was reached on ceasefire. After this, in the second round of talks, it was agreed to extend the ceasefire till 6 November. Now, as soon as the third round of talks started, the Pakistani Army violated the ceasefire and again attacked the Afghan army and residential areas.
The differences between the two delegations over cross-border terrorist activities remained so intense that the second round of talks ended without any progress. Pakistan repeatedly accused the Taliban regime of supporting the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group and sought written guarantees from Afghanistan that it would prevent such groups from operating on Afghan soil.
