There has been rebellion once again in the family of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. After the Bihar election results, Lalu’s daughter Rohini Acharya has created a stir in Bihar politics by suddenly announcing her retirement from politics and breaking ties with the family. Let us tell you that this is the same Rohini, who had once donated a kidney to her father Lalu.
In fact, this is not the first time that the internal strife of this big political family of the country has come to the fore. There have always been disputes regarding inheritance. The first case came to light in the year 2017, when Lalu Yadav went to jail in the fodder scam, he handed over the command of RJD to his younger son Tejashwi Yadav. From that time onwards, the fight for political supremacy started between the two brothers (Tejashwi-Tej Pratap).
When Tej Pratap formed Lalu-Rabri front
Let us tell you that Tej Pratap Yadav has many times declared himself the real heir of Lalu. Tej Pratap’s political career took a new turn in 2018-2019 when Tej Pratap filed for divorce from wife Aishwarya Rai only after 5 months of marriage. He publicly alleged that the family does not listen to him and there is no benefit in living a suffocated life. Before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Tej Pratap had resigned from RJD and formed his own separate Lalu-Rabri front.
Rabri Devi-Aishwarya Rai controversy
Rabri Devi-Aishwarya Rai controversy also came to light in the year 2025 itself. When Aishwarya Rai suddenly came out crying from Rabri residence in the afternoon and later made serious allegations against mother-in-law Rabri Devi and sister-in-law Misa Bharti like harassing and not giving food. Aishwarya had said that she was not even given food. They are not allowed to go to the kitchen, the food comes from the parents’ house. This incident caused great embarrassment to Lalu family.
In the year 2021, Tej Pratap clashed with RJD state president Jagdanand Singh. This happened when Jagadanand had suspended his close friend. Let us tell you that Jagdanand Singh had suspended the state president of RJD organization Akash Yadav, who was close to Tej Pratap. During this period, Tejashwi had supported Jagdanand Singh.
Tej Pratap told Sanjay Yadav as Jaichand
In the year 2022-2023, Tej Pratap claimed several times that he was being politically marginalized and accused Tejashwi’s associate Sanjay Yadav of conspiring against him. Tej Pratap had called Sanjay Yadav Jaichand. In May 2025, when Tej Pratap claimed to have a 12-year relationship with Anushka Yadav, Lalu expelled him from RJD and family for 6 years, calling it irresponsible behaviour.
Rohini Acharya’s rebellion
The discord in the Lalu family once again reached a new level in September 2025 when Lalu’s daughter Rohini Acharya also rebelled. Angered by the growing influence of Sanjay Yadav, who is close to Tejashwi, Rohini unfollowed Lalu, Tejashwi, Tej Pratap and Misa Bharti on social media and called Sanjay Yadav as Jaichand.
After the defeat in Bihar elections, this discord has now reached its peak. Rohini Acharya made serious allegations against Sanjay Yadav and Rameez Nemat, close to Tejashwi Yadav, on social media. She said that she is leaving politics because these people have thrown her out of the family and do not want to take responsibility for the defeat.
