Ravindra Jedeja IPL Trade: Former Indian cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra has given the reason for the trade of star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to Rajasthan Royals (RR). This trade is one of the biggest trades in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL), in which Sanju Samson went to Chennai, while Jadeja and Sam Curran joined Rajasthan. The surprising thing in this is that Sanju Samson went to CSK for Rs 18 crore, which was his old fee, but Ravindra Jadeja has joined RR for Rs 14 crore, which was reduced from his fee of Rs 18 crore.
Why the cut in Jadeja’s fees?
While talking on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra has given the reason for Jadeja’s fee cut. He said, ‘Rajasthan has got Jadeja, but he has reduced his fees. I am wondering whether he got the fees reduced and left CSK? Because the price of a player cannot be changed without his consent. Chopra emphasized that why would any player reduce his fees, especially when he has been such a big match winner for his old team. He said, ‘Jadeja has taken Rs 4 crore less to leave Chennai, which is very surprising.’
Jadeja ‘greed’ for captaincy
While talking in that video, Akash said that maybe Jadeja was bored with the environment of Chennai and did not want to live there. However, this could have been done by going to the auction also, but the biggest question that Akash raised was whether Jadeja was lured by Rajasthan for captaincy. Was this the incentive for which Jadeja went to Rajasthan? This is very interesting, but there could be some other reason behind it.
