iPhone 18 Vs Samsung Galaxy S26: A new competition is being prepared in the smartphone market between Apple’s iPhone 18 and Samsung’s Galaxy S26. Both the phones are expected to be launched in 2026 but the initial leaks have already created a stir in the tech world. On one hand, Apple is working on its thinnest and most powerful iPhone, while on the other hand, Samsung is going to enter the field with a very bright display and powerful camera setup. Know below what important information has come to light so far regarding both the phones.
iPhone 18
iPhone 18 series is being considered a big change for Apple. After iPhone 17, Apple is now preparing to introduce even thinner and premium looking models. According to the leak, this time the lineup will include iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Whereas iPhone Air 2 may be banned for now.
Big change in launch timeline
This time Apple may also change its launch strategy. According to reports, the first foldable iPhone with Pro and Pro Max models will arrive in September 2026 while the base models may launch in spring 2027.
Powerful 2nm A20 Bionic chip
The biggest highlight of iPhone 18 will be its Next-Gen A20 Bionic chip, which will be based on 2nm technology. With this, there will be a big jump in AI performance, battery efficiency and Siri capabilities in the phone. On-device AI features will become even smarter through Apple Intelligence, including advanced text-to-image tools, better generative AI, and faster processing.
Major change in overall design
The iPhone Air-inspired slim design, new OLED screen, thin bezels and strong body give the iPhone 18 a premium feel. The most talked about is iPhone Fold which is said to be made of two thin titanium bodies. Its price can be above $2000 (Rs 1.6 lakh+).
Samsung Galaxy S26
Samsung is also looking quite aggressive with its Galaxy S26 series. The company can present its new lineup in the beginning of 2026 i.e. in January or February. This time Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra models will be seen. There are still speculations regarding the return of Edge Edition.
Big upgrade in display and battery
The Galaxy S26 is expected to have a 6.27-inch screen and a 4300mAh battery. Whereas in S26 Ultra, light frame, 6.9-inch display and battery up to 5400mAh can be seen. The best change is that there is talk of 60W fast charging in the Ultra model which was stuck at 45W for a long time.
A smarter version of Galaxy AI
Samsung is working on even deeper AI integration with One UI 8. Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Exynos 2600 chip will give the phone a faster AI processing experience.
Apart from this, there is also talk of a larger and more light capturing 50MP sensor in the base model, 200MP telephoto camera in the Ultra model and even 324MP main camera, although how true this is will be known only after the launch. Variable aperture may also return in the Ultra model, which has not been found in any Galaxy phone since 2019.
iPhone vs Samsung
Both the companies are moving forward with full emphasis on AI, display technology and ultra-premium design. The iPhone 18 focuses on greater efficiency, thinner design and a foldable model, while the Galaxy S26 wants to take the camera, battery and AI capabilities to a new level. One thing is certain, 2026 is going to be a historic year for flagship smartphones.
