Skin Cancer: Skin cancer is one of the fastest growing diseases worldwide. In India too, cases of skin cancer are increasing rapidly. According to experts, it is included in those cancers whose initial symptoms become clearly visible on the skin. Therefore, if it is identified in time, the treatment of skin cancer can be easy and successful to a great extent.

However, the problem regarding skin cancer increases when people ignore the initial changes on the skin and consider it to be a problem related to normal skin. In such a situation, let us tell you today which symptoms are seen in skin cancer, which you should not ignore at all.

What are the initial symptoms of skin cancer?

Most of the people are aware about the moles, freckles and spots on the skin on their body. The initial symptoms of skin cancer first appear in the form of changes in these. If a new spot forms on your skin or an old mole suddenly changes color or texture, then it is considered to be the first symptom of skin cancer.

Skin cancer can also be identified using ABCDE rules.

  • A -Asymmetry- To identify skin cancer, experts recommend following the ABCDE rules. In this, A means a part of the mole which does not match with the other part.
  • B-Border- B means that part of the mole which appears irregular, blurred or ragged at the edge of the mole.
  • C – Color- C means if more than one color like brown, black or white is seen in the mole, then it can also be a symptom of skin cancer.
  • D-Diameter- D means that the size of the mole is increasing, especially if it becomes more than 6 mm, then do not ignore it.
  • E-Evolving- E means the mole is changing with time. This includes itching, pain, bleeding or formation of a new mole.

Other early symptoms of skin cancer

  • If there is a new bump or wound on your skin which is not healing even in weeks, then that can also be a symptom of skin cancer.
  • At the same time, persistent itching, pain or burning sensation in a mole or patch is also an early symptom of skin cancer.
  • Frequent formation of scabs or bleeding from a wound is also a common symptom.
  • At the same time, continuous increase in the size of spots on the skin or spreading to the surrounding skin is also a symptom of skin cancer.
  • Having waxy or shiny bumps on the skin is also a common symptom of skin cancer.
  • Red, rough or scaly spots on the skin are also symptoms of skin cancer.

Who is most at risk of skin cancer?

According to experts, people who have very fair skin, who stay in the sun for a long time or who have had this disease in their family are at the highest risk of skin cancer. At the same time, elderly people, patients with weak immunity and those who have many moles in their body also have a higher risk of skin cancer. In such a situation, experts say that if any unusual changes are seen on your skin, wounds do not heal on time or there is a sudden change in a mole, then do not take it lightly and contact a doctor immediately.
