The crushing defeat of Jan Suraj Party in Bihar Assembly elections has given sleepless nights to Prashant Kishore. Prashant Kishore himself admitted that this result is a big shock for him. He said that he has not slept properly since the election results came out because Jan Suraj performed far less than expected. PK said that to be honest, I have not been able to sleep properly after the results came, but you are not defeated until you accept defeat.
Prashant Kishore, who entered politics as an election strategist, said that his politics is beyond any electoral victory or defeat. He said that if we want to change Bihar, we cannot retreat after losing one election. This is a long fight and I will continue it with full force.
PK had fielded candidates on 238 seats in Bihar.
In Bihar elections 2025, Jan Suraj had contested the elections on a large scale for the first time. However, the party could not win even a single seat. The vote share of the candidates was very low on many seats. Jansuraj got more support than expected in rural areas, but it could not be translated into victory. Prashant Kishore has said these things in an interview given to NDTV.

Jan Suraj Party had fielded its candidates on 228 seats out of 243. Earlier there was discussion that Prashant Kishor himself can contest the elections. It was being said that either he will contest elections from Karhagar seat or he will contest against Tejashwi Yadav. However, he decided not to contest the elections. Jansuraj got about 16.74 lakh votes in Bihar. However, his party could not win any seat. If we talk about vote percentage, Jansuraj got a total of 3.34 percent support, which is not considered small for a new party. He clearly said that he does not consider not getting votes as a crime. He said that he never took help of caste or religion in elections and will not do so in future also. He also made it clear that he is not going to leave Bihar and the work of Jan Suraj will continue.
