It is noteworthy that the by-election on Bankipur Assembly seat is being held after the resignation of Bharatiya Janata Party National President Nitin Naveen from the post of MLA. After being elected as Rajya Sabha member, he left the membership of the Assembly. Nitin Naveen was elected MLA from Bankipur for four consecutive times. Voting for this by-election is to be held on July 30.
Competition between BJP and Jansuraj
A direct contest is being considered between BJP and Jansuraj on Bankipur seat. Actually, strategist Prashant Kishore is in the fray on behalf of Jansuraj. Whereas BJP had earlier made Abhishek Kumar its candidate but after nomination he withdrew his name, after which BJP has made Neeraj Kumar its candidate.
Prashant Kishore and Neeraj Sinha filed their nominations for the by-election on July 13. On the last date of nomination, a huge crowd was seen in Patna Collectorate. At present, the round of political statements is also continuing. Amidst the elections, controversial posters against Prashant Kishore have also been put up in Bankipur.
