IND A vs BAN A: Three big mistakes happened in the semi-finals due to which Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s team lost the ticket to the final.

IND A vs BAN A: In the first semi-final of Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, India A team succumbed to Bangladesh A despite coming very close to victory. The match was exciting in the first 20 overs and then reached the super over, where the Indian team could not score a single run. After this defeat, questions are being raised on three big decisions, which eliminated the team from the finals. Despite having a dynamic pair like Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya, the wrong strategy of the team management proved costly.

1. Wrong toss strategy in a knockout match

The first big decision of captain Jitesh Sharma was to win the toss and choose to bowl. In knockout matches, most of the teams aim to score big by batting first. Whereas Jitesh took the opposite decision. Bangladesh scored fast runs from the beginning and put the match under pressure. If India had batted first, perhaps the story would have been different.

2. Giving the ball to a part-time bowler in the 19th over.

The last two overs changed the real direction of the match. Handing over the 19th over to part-time bowler Naman Dheer proved to be the biggest blunder. Naman gave away 28 runs in this over. SM Mehrob of Bangladesh broke the entire plan of India A by hitting three sixes, two fours and another six on the last ball. After this, 22 runs were scored in the 20th over also. That means 50 runs in just 12 balls! Earlier, the Indian bowlers had made a good comeback in the match, but these two overs completely spoiled the balance.

3. Not sending Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the super over.

The credit for tying the match goes to Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya. Suryavanshi scored 38 runs in 15 balls and gave away 19 runs in Mandal’s over in the powerplay. Whereas Priyansh Arya also played a brilliant inning of 44 runs in 23 balls. Despite this, not sending him to bat in the Super Over was a shocking decision. Jitesh Sharma himself came out and was bowled on the very first ball. After this Ashutosh was also out without opening the account. India collapsed at 0/2 in the super over.

Bangladesh also lost a wicket on the first ball, but Indian bowler Suyyash Sharma bowled wide under pressure, due to which Bangladesh won without scoring any runs.
