KL Rahul will captain the Indian team in the ODI series against South Africa. BCCI has announced the 15-member Indian team for the 3-match ODI series. Shubman Gill has not been able to recover from his neck injury, hence he is not a part of this team. Ravindra Jadeja, who missed the ODI series against Australia, has returned to the 50-over format.
Rishabh Pant also got a place in the team
Earlier, many media reports had claimed that Rishabh Pant would be the captain of Team India in the ODI series against South Africa, but all the reports turned out to be fake. The selection committee has handed over the captaincy of Team India for this three-match series to KL Rahul. However, Rishabh Pant is also a part of the 15-member Team India.
Siraj and Bumrah did not get place in the team
Star fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah have been rested in the South Africa ODI series. The 15-member team has 3 wicketkeeper batsmen in the form of captain KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Dhruv Jurel. There are three spin options in the form of Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav. Whereas mystery spinner Varun Chakraborty has not got a place. There are three fast bowling options in the form of Nitish Kumar Reddy along with Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh.
