On November 25, ICC has announced the schedule of T20 World Cup 2026. After the announcement of the schedule, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav has made a big prediction on the teams reaching the final. Team India’s first match will be with USA on 7th February. Defending champion India is in Group A, which also includes Pakistan, USA, Netherlands and Namibia.
An event was organized for the schedule announcement of the T20 World Cup. In this program, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav was asked about the teams going to the final. Suryakumar replied that the final match will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and India and Australia will clash in the final. Let us tell you that the final match will be played on March 8. Harmanpreet Kaur also supported captain Suryakumar on the India vs Australia final match.
When the same question was asked to Rohit Sharma, who made India win the 2024 T20 World Cup title under his captaincy, Rohit said that no matter who goes to the final, he only wants to see the Indian team lift the cup. Rohit has also been made the brand ambassador of T20 World Cup 2026.
India and Pakistan are also in Group A
The World Cup will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka, the first match will be held on 7 February and the final match will be held on 8 March. India and Pakistan have been placed in Group A, in which USA, Netherlands and Namibia are also present. India will play its first match with USA on 7 February, while the India-Pakistan mega-match will be held in Colombo on 15 February.
A total of 20 teams will be participating in the World Cup, just like the 2024 World Cup. They have been divided into 4 groups of five teams each. The team finishing in the top-2 of each group will go to the Super-8 stage. There will be a semi-final between the top-4 teams in the Super-8 stage table and then the title match on March 8.
