International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest rankings. Rohit Sharma has once again become the world number-1 ODI batsman. New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell has moved to second place with the loss of one place. Last time ICC released the rankings, Daryl Mitchell had moved to the first position but now Rohit has again secured the first position. Mitchell has suffered a loss due to not playing in the second and third matches of the ODI series against West Indies.
Rohit Sharma currently has 781 rating points, while Daryl Mitchell in second place now has 766 rating points. Rohit Sharma will next be seen playing in the ODI series against South Africa. Apart from Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill (4) and Virat Kohli (5) are at number 10 in the ODI batting rankings. Whereas Shreyas Iyer has lost one place, due to which he has moved to 9th position.
In the Test batting rankings, Yashasvi Jaiswal has moved to eighth position with the loss of one place. He is the only Indian in the top-10. Jasprit Bumrah is at number one in the Test bowling rankings, while Mohammad Siraj has moved up one place to 11th position.
South Africa, which defeated India 2-0 in the Test series at home, has gained in the rankings, which has now moved up to second position with the gain of one place. South Africa has also gained in the WTC points table, where it is also ranked second.
