Ind Vs SA: Rishabh Pant apologized for the defeat to South Africa, made a big announcement

Indian Test team vice-captain Rishabh Pant apologized for the players’ poor performance against South Africa and promised that the team will regroup, focus and readjust itself to make a stronger comeback.

India suffered a 0-2 defeat in the series that ended with the second Test in Guwahati on Tuesday. Pant led the Indian team in this match because regular captain Shubman Gill could not play in this match due to neck injury.

India lost this match by a record 408 runs, which dealt a huge blow to its chances of reaching the final of the World Test Championship. Pant had to face criticism for being careless in shot selection during this series.

Pant said in one of his posts on X, “It cannot be denied that we have not played good cricket in the last two weeks. As a team and as individual players, we always want to perform our best and bring smiles on the faces of crores of Indians.

He said, “I am sorry that we could not live up to the expectations this time, but sport teaches you as a team and player, it teaches you to adapt to situations and move forward. We know what this team is capable of doing. We will work hard, regroup, refocus and prepare again to come back stronger and better as a team and as players.

Pant said that representing India is the biggest honor in the life of the players. India does not have to play any test match till next year.
