Increasing pollution and expensive petrol and diesel in India have increased people’s inclination towards Hybrid SUVs. These SUVs consume less fuel, give better mileage and are also safe for the environment. Three big hybrid SUVs – Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid, Kia Seltos Hybrid and Maruti Grand Vitara 7-Seater Hybrid are going to be launched in India in 2025-26. Maruti FrontX Hybrid

• Maruti’s Front Hybrid will be the most affordable SUV in this list, the starting price of which can be kept around Rs 8.5 lakh. The company will present it with its first in-house strong-hybrid system HEV. It will be provided with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12E engine, which, combined with an electric motor and 1.5-2 kWh battery, will give a power of about 80-90 bhp. This will be a series hybrid system, in which the petrol engine will charge the battery and the motor will drive the wheels. Its mileage will be around 35 kmpl. It will get a new grille, LED lights, 9-inch touchscreen, wireless carplay, digital cluster and level-1 ADAS.

Kia Seltos Hybrid

• The hybrid model of Kia Seltos will arrive in 2026 and will be Kia’s first hybrid in India. In this, 1.5-liter petrol engine will be combined with electric motor, which will give 140 bhp power and 250 Nm torque. With e-CVT gearbox this SUV can give 25-28 kmpl mileage. It will have features like 10.25-inch dual screen, sunroof, ventilated seats and level-2 ADAS. The price can start from around Rs 15 lakh.

Maruti Grand Vitara 7-Seater

• The 7-seater hybrid model of Maruti Grand Vitara will be launched in 2026. It will give a total of 115 bhp power with 1.5-liter K15C engine and 79 bhp electric motor. Its mileage is expected to be more than 25 kmpl. Keeping the large family in mind, it will be provided with features like long wheelbase, third-row seat, 9-inch screen, head-up display, ventilated seats and ADAS. The starting price can be around Rs 18.5 lakh.
