What did Turkey’s Transport Ministry say?
Viraat, which was earlier reported to have been attacked by unmanned marine vehicles about 35 nautical miles off the Black Sea coast, was attacked again by unmanned marine vehicles this morning, Turkey’s Transport Ministry said, according to a statement posted on Twitter.
Turkey’s Transport Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said investigators were looking for signs of an external attack. He told that an external attack means that the ship has been attacked by a mine, rocket or perhaps a drone. These are the first things that come to mind. However, despite minor damage, Virat is stable. Officials have confirmed that all crew members are safe and in good health.
Attack in the Southern Black Sea
OSINTdefender, an open source intelligence monitor operated by the Twenty crew members were evacuated safely after the initial attack on Friday. It is being told that the ship is now burning and sinking off the coast of Türkiye.
CNN quoted a Ukrainian security source as saying that Sea Baby maritime drones were involved in the attack in a coordinated SBU-Navy operation. Russia did not give any immediate reaction. According to the source, both ships have been heavily damaged and have been effectively disabled.
