Russian President Vladimir Putin is visiting India and before his arrival the discussion has once again intensified regarding his security measures. Putin, who is counted among the most secure heads of state in the world, remains surrounded by four security cordons even under normal circumstances and the same model of security is likely to be implemented when he reaches India.
How is Putin’s security?
Putin’s security system is considered to be the world’s most secret and most high-tech security system. This security is divided into four layers, which include armed bodyguards, snipers, look-alikes, bulletproof briefcases and electronic surveillance.
Layer 1: Personal Bodyguard
The closest circle is of Putin’s personal security agents. They follow Putin around. He has a special bulletproof briefcase. They have a 9 mm SR-1 Vector pistol, which can even withstand armor piercing bullets.
Second layer: security hidden in the crowd
The second security circle is such that it is not visible to the common eye. These security officers mingle in the crowd like normal people and react immediately to any suspicious activity.
Third layer: surround and sniper
The third layer includes another team of bodyguards and snipers deployed on nearby buildings, who keep an eye in every direction. This layer has the ability to neutralize any threat even before it comes near the security perimeter.
Fourth layer: technical and intelligence security
This security layer is activated months in advance. Apart from things like destination monitoring, weather and risk reports, mobile network and electronic surveillance, deployment of bomb defense jammer systems, every technical activity in Putin’s stay and travel areas is scanned.
convoy of heavy vehicles
During the visit, Putin is accompanied by a convoy of armored vehicles, in which commandos armed with AK-47s, anti-tank grenade launchers and portable anti-aircraft missiles are present.
Preparations for India tour
After the announcement of Putin’s visit to India on December 4, security agencies have started preliminary inspection on his travel route, place of stay and program venues. It is believed that Putin will travel to India also with his same global security system.
