Rajasthan: Now there will be no jail in these cases, CM Bhajanlal Sharma took many big decisions in the cabinet meeting.


Many important decisions were approved in the meeting of Rajasthan Cabinet and Council of Ministers held on Wednesday (December 3) under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. The government approved the Rajasthan Public Trust Amendment Act on the lines of the Centre, after which one will no longer have to go to jail for minor mistakes. In many laws, the provision of only fine has been made instead of imprisonment. Major decisions were also taken in the meeting on tourism, compassionate appointment, Overseas Rajasthani Policy and airport development.

Jail sentence abolished, only fine in many laws

The government has abolished such provision in 11 laws, in which one had to go to jail even for a minor mistake. Now in such situations only financial penalty will have to be given.

Cabinet Ministers Jogaram Patel and Sumit Godara said that the purpose of these changes is to end the situation of sending people to jail unnecessarily and to promote ease of living and ease of doing.

Now 10 times more fine for cutting trees

Major changes have been made in the rules related to forest area. The fine for cutting trees for the first time has been increased from Rs 100 to Rs 1000. For doing this for the second time, the fine has been increased from Rs 200 to Rs 2000.

Now there will be no jail time for cutting wood from the forest or causing damage to forest wealth, only fine. Now there will be no jail term but only fine for grazing animals in forest department forests. The government says that people will follow the rules due to stiff fines, but there will be no need to send them to jail for common mistakes.

Now only fine for wastage of water

Changes have also been made in the law regarding unnecessary wastage of water. Earlier in some cases there was a provision for jail sentence, but now it has been changed to only financial penalty. Similar amendments have been made in many other laws also.

New tourism policy approved in Rajasthan

The state government gave green signal to the new tourism policy in the meeting. This time, plans have been prepared comprehensively linking tourism with religion, culture and bravery. Religious places will be promoted and tourism activities will be developed around them. Tourism circuit and bravery circuit will be established in the state.

In the Bravery Circuit, stories of bravery of brave fighters will be taken to the tourists. The government’s aim is to include Rajasthan among the top-2 states of the country in terms of tourism. Currently it is at number five.

District level tourist development committees will be formed in all the districts. The chairman of this committee will be the Collector and its main objective will be to improve the safety, facilities and arrangements of tourists.

Relaxation in rules of compassionate appointment

Earlier, the dependents of the deceased had to apply for compassionate appointment within 90 days. Now this period has been increased to 180 days, which will provide great relief to the affected families. Changes in the already decided policy for Overseas Rajasthanis and Non-Residential Rajasthanis (NRRs) have been approved.

Investment coordinators will be appointed in Rajasthan Foundation chapters. It has also been decided to organize Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas on a grand scale this time. At the same time, the government has increased the validity of waiting list in recruitment examinations from 6 months to 12 months. This will increase flexibility and transparency in the selection process.

Kishangarh Airport in Ajmer district will be developed as an alternative to Jaipur Airport. This will provide convenience to the passengers traveling to and from the capital and will also reduce traffic pressure.
