After Huawei and Samsung, now another company is preparing to launch a tri-fold phone. A new phone from Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi has appeared for GSMA certification. It is believed that this will be the company’s first trifold phone. Only the model number has been revealed for certification so far and no other information related to its hardware has been revealed. According to reports, its model number 2608BPX34C has been revealed during certification and it can be launched in the market under the name of Xiaomi Mix Trifold. This trifold phone of Xiaomi will convert into a tablet-like display when completely opened. Xiaomi had showcased its tri-fold concept in 2018, but since then no information has been revealed about its commercial product.
When can it be launched?
The patent listing shows that triple camera sensors can be found in the rear of the Xiaomi handset, which will be placed on a horizontal module. Its design can be like Huawei’s Mate XT Ultimate and the screen will fold inwards. There are speculations that Xiaomi may launch its first tri-fold phone next year. Currently the company is working on Xiaomi 17 Fold and Xiaomi Mix Flip 3, which will be launched early next year. After this, Xiaomi Mix Trifold can be launched in the third quarter of 2026. If this happens, then Xiaomi will become another company after Samsung to compete with Huawei in the trifold market.
