Karnataka’s veteran player Krishnappa Gautam has retired from all forms of cricket. He has put an end to his cricket career after spending 14 years in Indian domestic cricket. Krishnappa Gautam has been a part of 3 top teams including Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League. Gautam was known for his power hitting and strong off-spin bowling.

Krishnappa Gautam made his first-class debut in the 2012 Ranji Trophy. He made his debut against Uttar Pradesh, in his very first match he dismissed famous players like Suresh Raina and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Apart from this, due to his strong batting style, he had confirmed his place in the senior team of Karnataka.

The 2016-17 Ranji season proved to be the turning point of his career, in which he took 27 wickets in 8 matches. He achieved a big achievement in batting when Gautam scored the first century of his career in the match against Assam.

In his first-class career of 59 matches, Gautam has taken 224 wickets and also scored 1419 runs. In his List-A career, he took 96 wickets in 68 matches and also scored 630 runs. Krishnappa Gowtham also played one ODI match for India, when he took one wicket in the match against Sri Lanka. He played for India A team many times.

Gautam was also a part of Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings squads in his IPL career. He took 13 wickets in his IPL career and scored 247 runs in batting. The high point of his IPL career came when Chennai Super Kings signed him in 2021 for a sum of Rs 9.25 crore.
